The owner of this bungalow in Killiney was already on the right path when he approached Churchfield to enhance his house further along the energy efficiency road. He had previosly installed a high efficiency boiler and heating controls and was now looking to upgrade the building fabric of his home.
Churchfield externally insulated the house with EPS insulation with an acrylic finish and also provided attic insulation. The U-value of the walls rose from 2.4 W/m2K to 0.27 W/m2K and the attic from 0.4 W/m2K to 0.13 W/m2K.
The Ber for the house is now a C2 which translates to a vastly decreased heating demand and a much more consistent and comfortable living environment.
